Mr. Arpit Dubey and Ms. Suvidha Khaire under the mentorship of Prof. Gaurav Manik from the Polymer & Process Engineering Department, IIT Roorkee has won the Silver Award at the TECHgium® open innovation competition. The team has won a Trophy, Cheque of Rs. 5,00,000/- and an Engineer at Heart memento.

Technology for synthesizing Inexpensive bipolar membrane capable of dissociating water at lower potential using high-performance polymers is patented and the technology is transferred to Permionics Global technologies based in Vadodara, Gujarat for scale up and commercial manufacturing. The technical paper “Fundamental Limitations of Performance Grade Rutting and Fatigue Cracking Criteria of Bitumen’ by Ms. Akanksha Pandey, a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Sham Sundar Ravindranath, has been awarded ‘Prof. B. B. Pandey Memorial Award’ in the 81st Indian Road Congress session, Lucknow. The award is constituted by IIT Kharagpur in memory of Prof. B. B. Pandey, a renowned Professor and Transportation Engineer in Road Engineering. The award recognizes Outstanding work in pavement engineering. The award was presented in the auspicious presence of the Honorable Minister for Road Transport and Highways, the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Honorable Union Minister, etc.

Ms. Nitesh Choudhary, PMRF Fellow and Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. P. K. Maji in the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, IIT Roorkee, has been awarded the esteemed Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship. She will pursue part of her doctoral research at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

Prof. P. K. Maji recently spent a month at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Cologne, as part of our ongoing DST-DAAD collaborative project focused on polymers for space applications. The visit fostered valuable research exchange, and our outcomes were highly appreciated by the German collaborators.

We are proud to share that Mr. Shiva Singh, a PMRF Fellow working under the guidance of Prof. P.K. Maji in the Department of Polymer and Processing Engineering, has been recognized among the top 10 PMRF research scholars across India. In recognition of his outstanding academic contributions, he has been invited to interact with the Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of India, along with other eminent dignitaries, to discuss the future of higher education in the country.

We are delighted to announce that Ms. Shakshi Bhardwaj, a PMRF Fellow under the supervision of Prof. P.K. Maji in the Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, IIT Roorkee, has been selected for the esteemed Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship. As part of this prestigious program, she will conduct collaborative research at the University of Colorado Boulder, USA, contributing significantly to her doctoral work and advancing international academic collaboration.
